Our Programmes

Koru

It is a settling-in stage for your toddler who will learn through their curiosity and active exploration and play, thereby making learning meaningful. Your child will learn alongside other children. There is a space for under 2s operating alongside the Koru room. There are 5 spaces for children under 2 years old.

Kowhai

This is the preparatory stage for our children, who learn through sustained interests, and their language and social needs are supported and extended accordingly. They learn alongside others.

Keas

This is the transition stage as your child is now growing up to be a competent and confident learner in communicating, discovering, exploring, negotiating etc, being prepared to read and write. Your child will develop their leadership skills as a master player. This runs from 11:15 to 12:15 and then tamariki join the kowhai room for lunch.

Kauri

Special teaching programme with more literacy, numeracy and reading skills developed (at a new entrants level) to get children off to a good start for school. This runs from 9:15 to 11:00 in the morning which includes morning tea in that time.

Van Transportation

Van transportation is available for families with enrolled children. Pick-up and drop-off services are offered as part of our daily routine. If you would like to include van transportation for your child, please inquire during the enrollment process

Costs

3-5 Year olds 20 ECE FREE hours per week.

$10 per hour for every extra hour above the 20 free hours.

Under 3 years old $7 per hour.

Additional Support: You may be eligible for WINZ subsidies to help with costs.

Hours of Operation

The Preschool is open Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 17:30, 49 weeks a year.

We are open during school holidays, except for three weeks over Christmas and New Year.

We are closed on public holidays.

Attendance during school holidays is optional, but we would appreciate parents indicating during the last week of term if they intend attending during the school term breaks.

About Us

St Peter's Anglican Preschool

St Peter's Anglican Preschool opened in August, 2019. It provides a multicultural, family-friendly environment that has developed strong links with our community.

Licensed for 44 children, we nurture children aged approximately 1.3 – 5 years (children can stay up to their 6th birthday).

We believe that each child is a gift from God and is best taught well while they are young.

Our Learning program is based on Biblical teaching and the principles of Te Whāriki (New Zealand ECE curriculum) which guides us in the development of children’s cognitive, emotional, physical, intellectual, language, emotional and social needs.
